Acrylic steps used by Forensic Unit
First developed in the 1930s, Methyl Methacrylate – otherwise known as ‘acrylic’ – is now one of the most commonly used and versatile plastic materials in the world today. It is commonly known by the brand names Plexiglas®, Acrylite® or Perspex®.
Acrylic is a thermoplastic with outstanding strength and stiffness. Clear acrylic is highly transparent with a light transmission of 92% optically clear, and is therefore widely used for glazing, indoor and outdoor signs, retail store fixtures, point-of-sale displays, shelving, display cases and much more.
